MARKETS

🇮🇳 India

  • Indian shares extended their rally for a fourth straight session on Monday, supported by continued foreign inflows and optimism over economic reforms following the new government’s formation. Banking and infrastructure stocks led the advance, while IT shares were mixed. Broader market sentiment remained upbeat, reflecting confidence in policy continuity and robust domestic growth prospects.

🌍️ International

Stock data as of market close 09/06/2025

  • Wall Street ended higher, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hitting fresh record closing highs, as investors looked ahead to this week’s key inflation data and the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting. Gains were led by technology and communication services shares, with Nvidia and other chipmakers extending their rally. Investors remained optimistic that moderating inflation data could pave the way for a Fed rate cut later this year, while trading volumes were subdued ahead of the central bank’s decision.

🧑‍💻 India’s Leap into Agentic-AI

Source: NewsBytes

Bengaluru-based AI startup Krutrim, founded by Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, is set to unveil “Kruti” on June 12—India’s first agentic AI assistant.

Unlike traditional AI chatbots that respond reactively, Kruti is designed to act autonomously, anticipate user needs, and perform tasks proactively, all while understanding and communicating in Indian languages.

Kruti will feature three modes of interaction:

  • “Instant” for quick replies;

  • “Insightful” for logical reasoning; and

  • “In-depth” for extended research tasks.

Krutrim’s announcement comes amid rising expectations and some skepticism. After becoming India’s first AI unicorn in early 2024, with a $50 million raise at a $1 billion valuation, the company’s earlier releases—including its foundational language models and cloud platform—have faced criticism. Users noted issues like limited functionality, poor documentation, and unreliable infrastructure.

With Kruti, Krutrim hopes to reset the narrative. The assistant has been built to meet global AI benchmarks while being deeply rooted in the Indian context—especially in terms of multilingual capabilities and real-world utility.

For Krutrim, Kruti is more than a product; it represents a make-or-break moment.

Overall: If Kruti delivers on its promise of proactive intelligence and localized relevance, Krutrim could re-establish credibility and position itself as a leader in India’s AI future. June 12 - mark your calendars 📆

🚀 Shubhanshu Shukla’s space milestone - Indian Air Force pilot Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to make history as part of India's first crewed space mission under the Gaganyaan program. Scheduled for an uncrewed test flight initially, Shukla’s eventual journey will mark a significant leap in India’s space capabilities. The mission, led by ISRO, aims to demonstrate human spaceflight readiness and is considered a cornerstone in India’s aspirations to establish itself as a key player in space exploration. Shukla, trained in Russia and India, will help validate critical mission systems before full deployment.

🛰️ Starlink enters the Indian market - Elon Musk’s Starlink is preparing to enter the Indian market with satellite internet services priced at ₹3,000 per month. The service promises high-speed internet in remote and underserved regions, targeting rural India where connectivity remains a challenge. Starlink’s India rollout is pending government approvals, including security clearances and local partnerships. Despite the high monthly cost, the offering could revolutionize access to digital infrastructure in India’s hinterlands, bridging the connectivity gap and supporting digital inclusion initiatives.
